Been lurking for a bit but this question finally made me post. Why is the free swx cam quality always so pixelated?

The scam problem is real. I've been burned before by sites that seemed legit but turned out to be full of fake profiles. Would love recommendations from people with first-hand experience.

Things I'm specifically wondering about:

  • How many active users does it have in my area?
  • Is the messaging feature actually free?
  • Does it have a mobile app?
  • Are there spam filters in place?

Thanks in advance — real experiences only please, not marketing copy.

Safety first, always. Some basics I follow:

  • Use a dedicated email address
  • Never share your real number until you've video chatted first
  • Meet in public places the first few times
  • Tell a friend where you're going

As for platform recommendations — I came across DatingFly recently and it seemed more transparent than most.

Honestly the app market has changed a lot. The big names like Facebook Dating, Tinder, Bumble get most of the traffic but the niche sites sometimes have better communities. Just make sure any site you use has an actual privacy policy and real contact info.

datescout.site gets mentioned a lot in other threads — seems worth checking out if you haven't.

Good point about the paywalls. The 'free' messaging is basically just a teaser.
