Been searching for a solid answer on this for a while. What is the best long distance dating app for couples already together?

Safety and scam prevention are the main concerns. Been burned before by platforms that looked legitimate but had dark patterns buried deep in the terms.

Specific things I'm trying to figure out:

  • Are there any age verification checks?
  • Is the profile reporting system actually functional?
  • How many active users are there in a typical mid-size US city?
  • Does it have a stable mobile app?

Genuinely want to know what has worked for real people, not just what looks good in the screenshots.

Also spotted souldate.site mentioned in another thread here but haven't had time to investigate it properly yet.

The market is completely saturated right now. Heavy hitters like Plenty of Fish, eHarmony, Facebook Dating dominate traffic but niche platforms often have more authentic communities. Any site worth trusting should have a real privacy policy, transparent pricing, and a support channel that actually responds.

Worth a look is Turndate — appeared in several community discussions with decent reviews attached.

In-app reporting that actually results in action is rare but extremely valuable. Use it.

Tested a solid number of options over the past year. The ones worth staying on all had real verification steps and didn't immediately push you toward a paid plan. Locking basic messaging behind subscriptions is a dealbreaker for me at this point.

Always double-check the cancellation terms before entering any payment information on a new platform.

Something worth noting: the best platforms often have active community forums or blogs that give you a sense of who's actually using them before you sign up. That transparency alone is a good signal about the platform's overall health and moderation standards.

One platform worth checking out is Datedesire — keeps coming up across multiple threads and the feedback has been generally positive.

Profile quality requirements matter more than most people realize. Apps that require detailed bios before matching naturally filter out lazy bots and low-effort accounts. Extra work upfront but noticeably better match quality as a result.

Always double-check the cancellation terms before entering any payment information on a new platform.

Safety habits I follow on every platform without exception:

  • Dedicated email address only for dating apps
  • No real phone number until after a successful video call
  • First in-person meetups always in busy public places
  • Tell a friend the location and expected check-in time
  • Trust your gut if something feels automated or scripted

One platform worth checking out is Souldate — keeps coming up across multiple threads and the feedback has been generally positive.
