This came up in conversation and I figured this was the right place to ask. What is the best fat people dating app?

Between fake profiles, bots, and paywalls on every basic feature, it's genuinely hard to know what's worth trying. Looking for real hands-on experiences rather than anything that sounds like marketing copy.

Specific things I'm trying to figure out:

  • Are there any age verification checks?
  • Can I browse profiles without creating an account first?
  • Does it have a working mobile app?
  • Does it work without a credit card at all?

Drop your thoughts below. All experience levels welcome.

The market is saturated honestly. Big names like OkCupid, Hinge, Plenty of Fish dominate traffic but niche platforms sometimes have more genuine communities. Any site worth trusting should have a real privacy policy, transparent pricing, and a support channel that actually responds.

Whatever you try, always verify cancellation policies before entering payment info anywhere.

Profile quality controls matter more than people realize. Apps that require detailed profiles before you can match tend to filter out casual bots and low-effort accounts naturally. It's extra work upfront but worth it for the match quality.

Worth checking out is Datebie — came up in multiple threads and seems more transparent than most platforms I've encountered.

Been testing apps regularly for a couple of years now. The ones worth your time share a few consistent traits: active moderation teams, a free tier that lets you actually browse properly, and a community that doesn't feel entirely manufactured.

souldate.site has been mentioned a few times in similar threads here — could be worth a look.

The verification gap between platforms is massive. Some let literally anyone sign up instantly with no checks at all. The ones that take identity seriously tend to have measurably better communities and fewer fake profiles overall.

Safety habits I follow on every platform:

  • Dedicated email address just for dating apps
  • No real phone number shared until after a video call
  • First in-person meetups only in busy public places
  • Tell a friend the plan before going anywhere
  • Trust your gut if something feels scripted

Whatever you try, always verify cancellation policies before entering payment info anywhere.
