Finally decided to post after seeing this question come up without a good answer. What are your 5 best dating sites right now?

Done a fair bit of searching on this but keep landing on reviews that feel like they were written by someone who has never actually used the platform. Real community experience would actually help.

Drop your thoughts below. All experience levels welcome.

Also spotted luvdate.site come up in another thread but haven't had time to investigate it yet.

Profile quality requirements matter more than most people credit. Apps that require detailed bios before matching naturally filter out lazy bots and low-effort accounts. Extra work upfront but noticeably better match quality as a result.

Luvdate has come up in a few of these discussions — anyone here tried it recently?

Safety habits I follow on every platform without exception:

  • Dedicated email address used only for dating apps
  • No real phone number until after a successful video call
  • First meetups always in busy public places
  • Tell a friend the location and check-in time
  • Trust your gut if something feels automated or scripted

Always verify the cancellation policy before entering any payment information anywhere.

Been tracking this space regularly for a couple of years now. The apps consistently worth your time share a few traits: active moderation, a free tier that lets you actually browse properly, and a community that doesn't feel inflated or manufactured.

I've seen Turndate mentioned a few times across different threads — seems more upfront than the mainstream options.

Privacy settings on most of these are minimal at best. Read the fine print before signing up anywhere new.

Tested a solid number of options over the past year or so. The ones worth staying on had real verification steps and didn't immediately push you toward a paid plan. Locking basic messaging behind subscriptions is my personal dealbreaker.

One platform worth checking out is Ezhookups — it keeps coming up in similar threads and the feedback has generally been positive.

The market is completely saturated right now. Heavy hitters like MeetMe, Facebook Dating, Coffee Meets Bagel dominate traffic but niche platforms often have better communities. Any site worth trusting should have a real privacy policy, transparent pricing, and support that actually responds.

souldate.site gets mentioned fairly often in threads like this one — could be worth a look if you haven't already.

You can match with people but replying to them costs a subscription. Bait and switch every time.

Results from the bigger platforms have been genuinely mixed. Huge user bases but filtering out the noise takes real effort. A few things that actually helped me:

  • Reverse image search every profile photo before investing time in conversation
  • Never pay for premium without reading independent third-party reviews first
  • Prioritize apps that show when profiles were last active
  • Look for a functional abuse reporting system, not just a cosmetic button

Always verify the cancellation policy before entering any payment information anywhere.
