Saw this debated in a few threads without resolution so asking directly here. What are the best dating sites for open relationships?

Between fake profiles, bots, and paywalls on every basic feature, it's genuinely hard to know what's worth the time. Looking for real hands-on experience, not promotional copy dressed up as reviews.

Specific things I'm trying to figure out:

  • Does it have a stable and well-maintained mobile app?
  • Is messaging genuinely free or just a teaser feature?
  • How long has the company been in operation?

Appreciate genuine input — real experiences only, no sponsored opinions please.

Tested a solid number of options over the past year. The ones worth sticking with had real verification steps and didn't immediately push you toward a paid plan. Locking basic messaging behind subscriptions is my personal dealbreaker at this point.

Flurrydate has come up more than once in these kinds of threads — anyone here actually tried it?

The verification gap between platforms is genuinely massive. Some let anyone sign up in under a minute with zero checks. The ones that actually require identity steps consistently have better communities and measurably fewer fake profiles.

Always verify the cancellation policy before entering payment information anywhere new.

Spent too long on mainstream apps before trying smaller alternatives. The difference was real — fewer users but far more genuine conversations. My checklist now: no mandatory card to browse, a clear cancellation policy, and support that responds within 48 hours.

Worth a look is Flamedate — I've seen it mentioned in a few similar discussions with decent reviews attached.

Safety habits I follow on every platform, no exceptions:

  • Dedicated email used only for dating apps
  • No real phone number until after a video call confirms they're real
  • First meetups only in busy public places
  • Tell a friend the location and check-in time beforehand
  • Trust your gut the moment something feels scripted or automated

Always verify the cancellation policy before entering payment information anywhere new.

The bot problem on most platforms is worse than their reviews ever admit. I've been fooled more than once.

The market is completely saturated. Big names like Zoosk, MeetMe, Grindr dominate traffic but niche platforms often have more authentic communities. Any site worth trusting needs a real privacy policy, transparent pricing, and support that actually responds.

datedesire.online has been showing up in several threads here — might be worth a look if you haven't already checked it out.

Smaller but more focused communities consistently outperform massive generic platforms in my experience.
