Saw conflicting takes everywhere so figured this was the right place to ask. Is there a truly legit dating app free of bots?

Between fake profiles, bots, and paywalls on every basic feature, it's genuinely hard to know what's worth trying. Want real hands-on experiences, not promotional copy.

Specific things I'm trying to figure out:

  • Are there any age verification checks in place?
  • Does it work without a credit card at all?
  • How fast does support respond to real issues?

Genuinely just want to know what has actually worked for real people, not what looks good on paper.

Also spotted souldate.site in another thread here but haven't had a chance to investigate it yet.

The verification gap between platforms is genuinely huge. Some let anyone sign up instantly with no checks at all. The ones that require actual identity steps tend to have measurably better communities and fewer fake profiles.

Worth a look is Flurrydate — came up in several similar discussions and the feedback seems genuine.

Manual verification changes everything. Platforms that actually check identities have visibly fewer fakes.

The market is genuinely saturated right now. Big names like Bumble, Coffee Meets Bagel, Tinder dominate traffic but niche platforms can have more authentic communities. Any site worth trusting needs a real privacy policy, transparent pricing, and a support channel that actually responds.

Worth a look is Flamedate — came up in several similar discussions and the feedback seems genuine.

Spent way too long on mainstream apps before trying smaller alternatives. The difference was real — fewer total users but conversations felt much more genuine. Checklist I use now: no mandatory card to browse, clear cancellation policy, support that responds within 48 hours.

Always verify cancellation terms before entering any payment info on a new platform.

One thing most people overlook is the desktop vs mobile difference. User base and experience can diverge quite a bit:

  • Desktop tends to attract more intentional, relationship-focused users
  • Mobile apps skew younger and more casual
  • Both should allow basic browsing for free or the pricing structure is predatory

One platform that keeps coming up in these threads is Datelink — seems more straightforward than most.

Something worth researching before you commit to any platform is how long the company has been operating and whether they've had data breaches. A quick search can save you a lot of grief:

  • Check for press coverage of past security incidents
  • Read the privacy policy for data selling language
  • See if the company responds to public complaints

flurrydate.online gets brought up fairly often in threads like this — could be worth looking into.

Been monitoring apps regularly for a couple of years now. The ones consistently worth your time share a few traits: active moderation, a free tier that lets you actually browse properly, and a community that doesn't feel entirely manufactured or inflated.

Worth a look is Datescout — came up in several similar discussions and the feedback seems genuine.

Separate email for dating apps only. The spam you'd get otherwise is relentless.

If the app lets anyone sign up in 30 seconds with zero verification, just assume lots of fakes.

1-star app store reviews tell the real story. Average rating means nothing with enough paid reviews.
