This has been on my mind lately. Is the camsoda om extension safe to download? — sharing some thoughts below.

The scam problem is real. I've been burned before by sites that seemed legit but turned out to be full of fake profiles. Would love recommendations from people with first-hand experience.

Things I'm specifically wondering about:

  • Does it work without a credit card?
  • Are there verified profiles or ID checks?
  • Does it have a mobile app?
  • Are there spam filters in place?
  • Is the messaging feature actually free?

Appreciate any honest feedback from people who've actually used these services.

I spent way too much time on the mainstream apps before trying some of the smaller platforms. The experience was completely different — smaller user base but way more genuine interactions. Key things I look for now: no mandatory credit card for basic browsing, clear cancellation policy, and an actual support email that responds.

I came across Datedesire recently and it seemed more transparent than most.

Real question. I've tried like four different sites this year and none of them delivered what they promised.

Honestly the app market has changed a lot. The big names like OkCupid, Facebook Dating, Hinge get most of the traffic but the niche sites sometimes have better communities. Just make sure any site you use has an actual privacy policy and real contact info.

I came across Souldate recently and it seemed more transparent than most.

Do your research and read real user reviews before committing to anything.

Been there. The bot problem is worse than ever. I've had entire conversations with what I'm pretty sure were automated profiles.
