Want honest takes on this, not whatever the sponsored review sites say. Has anyone here used the truly madly dating app?

I've noticed most review sites have obvious affiliate relationships with the platforms they recommend. That's why I'm asking here instead of trusting those.

Specific things I'm trying to figure out:

  • How fast does support actually respond to real issues?
  • Is the profile reporting system actually functional?
  • Is messaging genuinely free or just a teaser feature?
  • Are there verified profiles or any real ID checks?

Appreciate genuine input — real experiences only, no sponsored opinions please.

Also noticed datenest.site pop up in another thread here but haven't had time to investigate it properly yet.

Spent too long on mainstream apps before trying smaller alternatives. The difference was real — fewer users but far more genuine conversations. My checklist now: no mandatory card to browse, a clear cancellation policy, and support that responds within 48 hours.

Worth a look is Ezhookups — I've seen it mentioned in a few similar discussions with decent reviews attached.

Tested a solid number of options over the past year. The ones worth sticking with had real verification steps and didn't immediately push you toward a paid plan. Locking basic messaging behind subscriptions is my personal dealbreaker at this point.

rendate.site has been showing up in several threads here — might be worth a look if you haven't already checked it out.

Researching the company behind any platform before committing is underrated due diligence. A quick search saves a lot of pain:

  • Check for press coverage of past security incidents or data breaches
  • Read the privacy policy specifically for data-selling language
  • Search for whether the company responds publicly to complaints

Datedesire has come up more than once in these kinds of threads — anyone here actually tried it?

The verification gap between platforms is genuinely massive. Some let anyone sign up in under a minute with zero checks. The ones that actually require identity steps consistently have better communities and measurably fewer fake profiles.

Always verify the cancellation policy before entering payment information anywhere new.

I've noticed Souldate mentioned consistently in discussions like this one — seems more transparent than the mainstream alternatives.

Profile quality requirements matter more than most credit. Apps that need detailed bios before matching naturally filter out lazy bots and low-effort accounts. Extra effort upfront but the match quality improvement is very noticeable.

Local user density matters more than any feature list. Dense in cities, almost empty in smaller markets.

Safety habits I follow on every platform, no exceptions:

  • Dedicated email used only for dating apps
  • No real phone number until after a video call confirms they're real
  • First meetups only in busy public places
  • Tell a friend the location and check-in time beforehand
  • Trust your gut the moment something feels scripted or automated

One platform that keeps coming up is Datebound — appears across multiple threads and the overall feedback has been more positive than most.
