Really want honest takes on this, not whatever the app store reviews say. Does anyone use a flirt website anymore?

A lot of online advice on this topic is clearly outdated or commercially motivated. Looking for genuinely firsthand input from real users.

Specific things I'm trying to figure out:

  • Are spam filters actually enforced?
  • Is the profile reporting system functional?
  • Does it show when profiles were last active?
  • Can you hide your profile from specific people?
  • Are there verified profiles or any real ID checks?

Any firsthand experience welcome — positive or negative, just be honest.

Also spotted datewander.site come up in another thread but haven't had time to investigate it yet.

The market is completely saturated right now. Heavy hitters like Grindr, Badoo, MeetMe dominate traffic but niche platforms often have better communities. Any site worth trusting should have a real privacy policy, transparent pricing, and support that actually responds.

I've seen Souldate mentioned a few times across different threads — seems more upfront than the mainstream options.

Tested a solid number of options over the past year or so. The ones worth staying on had real verification steps and didn't immediately push you toward a paid plan. Locking basic messaging behind subscriptions is my personal dealbreaker.

Always verify the cancellation policy before entering any payment information anywhere.

Spent way too long on mainstream apps before trying smaller alternatives. Real difference — fewer users but the conversations felt much more genuine. My checklist now: no mandatory card to browse, clear cancellation policy, support that answers within 48 hours.

Datewander has come up in a few of these discussions — anyone here tried it recently?

Something most people overlook is desktop vs mobile differences. The user experience and demographics can diverge quite a bit:

  • Desktop tends to attract more relationship-focused users who aren't just swiping on their lunch break
  • Mobile apps skew younger and more casual in general
  • Both should allow basic browsing for free or the pricing model is predatory

Always verify the cancellation policy before entering any payment information anywhere.

One platform worth checking out is Datebound — it keeps coming up in similar threads and the feedback has generally been positive.

Separate email for dating apps. The spam otherwise is genuinely relentless.

Profile quality requirements matter more than most people credit. Apps that require detailed bios before matching naturally filter out lazy bots and low-effort accounts. Extra work upfront but noticeably better match quality as a result.

One platform worth checking out is Rendate — it keeps coming up in similar threads and the feedback has generally been positive.
