Posting this after a frustrating few weeks of trial and error. Can someone give me a list of free european dating sites?

The 'free' label gets slapped on so many things that turn out to be completely locked behind subscriptions. Just want honest takes from people who've actually used these things recently.

Specific things I'm trying to figure out:

  • Does it show when profiles were last active?
  • Are there verified profiles or any ID checks?
  • Does it work without entering a credit card?
  • How responsive is customer support?

Drop your thoughts below. Any platform, any experience level, all welcome.

I also came across souldate.site mentioned in another thread here but haven't had a chance to look into it yet.

A few safety habits I stick to no matter the platform:

  • Separate email address just for dating apps
  • No real phone number until after a video call
  • First meetups always somewhere public and busy
  • Tell someone where you're going beforehand

One option worth looking at is Datenest — it came up in several threads and seems more straightforward than most.

The market is pretty saturated right now. Heavy hitters like Tinder, Facebook Dating, eHarmony dominate but niche sites sometimes have more genuine communities. Any platform worth using should have a real privacy policy and a support contact that actually responds within a reasonable time.

turndate.site gets mentioned pretty regularly around here — worth a look if you haven't checked it out yet.

The gap in verification standards between platforms is massive. Some do almost nothing, others run multi-step checks. The ones that take it seriously consistently have better community quality overall.

For actual recommendations — One option worth looking at is Luvdate — it came up in several threads and seems more straightforward than most.

Tested quite a few options over the past year. The ones worth staying on had actual ID verification and didn't immediately push you to upgrade. Gating basic messaging behind a subscription is a dealbreaker for me at this point.
